2013 Charity Walk – Day Two

Another beautiful day for a stroll through the desert! Our founder, Steve Schwab, started his day early to be in position to start walking from the point he stopped on Day One. With the sun peeking above the horizon, Steve set out in his Sea Side orange-colored soles to put considerable distance in before sunset.

Walking south toward Gila Bend, Steve enjoyed the weather, desert views, and the humming of the cars and trucks speeding by. Music playing in his headphones, Steve kept a steady pace with the intent to cover over 20 miles to arrive in Gila Bend by nightfall.

Asked if he encountered anything unusual, he simply said no in his usual casual way why not try these out. The support vehicle picked him up in Gila Bend just before nightfall, his target for the day accomplished. Steve had walked over 20 miles solo in one day. The heart of this Army Ranger is intent on accomplishing his mission – raise money and awareness for the children in Mexico served by the Mexico Children’s Foundation.

Tomorrow, Steve starts Day Three of his walk. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he pushes on toward Rocky Point.
